I had some upsetting work news yesterday, bit of a gut punch, but it motivated me to work harder for my Salesforce credentials. Then I got the really wild email that might send me to LA to meet LeVar. Hard to even imagine and I'm trying not to get too excited and overwhelmed (hair cut, new shoes, pedicure, new outfit...).
Also yesterday, I walked out to Leverett and back. It's a three mile trip and really too much for most mornings. Plus parts of it are unpleasant. I think I'll stick with driving over there and doing the big loop when I can.

We're in another heatwave, so I'm limiting my outside time, but Violet and I did go to the Farmers' Market for tomatoes, basil, cukes, bread and ice cream. I also got some Mei Mei dumplings/pierogies, which were excellent. Looks like some thunderstorms later today. Boy do we need the rain. Sandman is out in all its glory. Weird to have this important part of my world on display to the general public.

Honey is home. Her flight was fine and we had four for Shabbat dinner. We were all very tired and crashed out early. I walked Jamaica Pond this morning. Chilly but with a good Springish sun.

Last night i had a dream of being trapped. Honolulu I think. Again, couldn't get to the beach but I wasn't at the stressful place where I realize that I'm blocked from it. In the dream I was with someone else and we went to this museum which was the "broken house", which was an old house full of East Asian stuff. The walls were split somehow. And earthquake perhaps. I had been there before but was showing someone else. In the dream I thought it was a real place. When I woke up I searched to see if there was a place like it in Hawaii or SF. Then we were walking and someone asked where the bars were and I told them to head down toward the "port" where the ships and sailors were. Was I thinking of Pearl Harbor? No idea. I remember seeing the beach behind a building as we walked. Didn't feel really stressful, just kind of a quest dream.

Tonight we're going to see the Animate Shorts at the Coolidge. Tomorrow the live action, I believe. No real birthday plans. I have champagne and cheese at the ready!

Just saw the chart for COVID rates in sewage for Boston. Dropping like a rock. This is great news. In early February, we should be in a better place. Not sure if it separates Delta from Omicron but as long as rates are lower, we can loosen up a little.

Rainy morning but I got in a walk. Intense at work now. Blocked by things out of my control, so I will focus on my own patch of garden.

Got lots of sleep and had some dreams. We had a black puppy. Drove to the Cape to a rented house and the dog ran off. I realized it had no collar or tags. Lost opportunity?

We watched the PBS show A Reckoning in Boston about race, white power, gentrification and education. Interesting but a bit messy in my estimation. The director was transformed by the story. We also watched Northern Exposure which was wonderful. They broke the 4th wall which was terrific.

Honey is settled, but I'm not sure about her classes. We will talk Sunday. I need to get used to her independence! Violet has midterms and then tech week and then the show.

We're always jumping to islands in time. Trying to dwell in this warm water for a moment.
