It is, in fact, cold on this first day of February. I did yoga first and will walk later. I completed the 30 days of yoga. No sign of stopping now, though I 
do need to find practices that are the right length and level for each day. I would like to find some that I can do 100%, as well as some that stretch me out. I should dig up my Yee videos and see if I can do it all now. So much stretching.

I continue to be amazed by The Pioneers. Natty Bumpo mentions rattlesnakes on Crumhorn Mountain, a fact which I have known all my life. I can't believe the overlap of his world of 200 years ago with mine. I read another piece which means the "bottomless" pond on Beaver Meadow Road, which my grandfather told me about. Me and JFC, we're really from the same place. In the middle of the night I remembered the frozen lake, the shanties, driving across the endless, slippery white and snowmobile races. And was shocked to realize that it was 50 years ago. I'm sure those things don't happen, maybe ice fishing, but I know the lake closes later and found that it didn't freeze at all three times in the last 20 years. I think it's time for a trip home.

Busy week with the musical. Good to be on track again. Fingers crossed.
