Way down under the ground
Nov. 12th, 2021 11:22 amWe saw Hadestown last night. It was really exciting to be back in the Opera House. We were a bit nervous, but we did it. DH was on the aisle, so he had space and no one next to or behind him. Time will tell. I enjoyed the show, but I didn't feel it emotionally. This is perhaps because I'm shielded or maybe the performance? I enjoyed the staging and some of the numbers but didn't have a transporting experience. Listening to the recording now to connect back to the music. There was a moment at the start when I heard that New Orleans trombone and all was well with the world.
Yesterday was beautiful. I biked around Jamaica Pond, tried to convince Violet to walk with me and walked with DH a bit. Then I tried the new Far Out ice cream, which was very good. A five mile day. Now it's raining, so I'm getting errands done. Car inspection, shopping, laundry, to do list, so that when the sun comes out tomorrow I'll be ready to go again. I'm glad I took the day off. And maybe I'll take a nap, since I was up late after the show.
No weekend plans, but we need to get serious about the construction prep and the Dublin decision. If not December, maybe August? That would make it easier. Options: 1. Go to Dublin as planned. (No indoor dining, rainy and dark but help Honey move out) 2. Don't go. Honey comes home early. We decamp to de Cape for a week. 3. Don't go but plan a week in August as our summer vacation. It's hard to know what to do. I hate to cancel our big Euro trip, but it also might be wasted on a plague winter trip. Sigh. I worry if we take option #3, we'll decide we can't afford it because of the expense of our new home and moving. Big days ahead.
Time to get some more coffee and make things happen.
