Ay Carajo, it's hot! Second heatwave of June. 99.9 Farenheit degrees. Violet started camp yesterday. It's very different this year. No drama for her apparently. But she's proud to have a job and happy to see her friends. Better than sitting in this sweat box all day. I need to figure out a new morning routine since I have to take her to the bus and show my phone for the COVID check. Easy enough to walk from there, but when do I yoga? I really need it to deal with my climate anxiety.

DH injured his foot somehow and has been laid up for a week. Finally going to get some medical help today. He needs to get back on his bike! We were hoping to ride in VT, but I'm not sure that's in the cards. Maybe sitting in the shade, looking at the lake and reading a book. Kayaking? Not being in Brookline. Seeing mountains and hills and going to Revolution Kitchen works for me.

I started reading Dreaming the Eagle my Manda Scott about Boudica. I'm really swept up in it. It's been a long time since I've settled into a big comfortable book. Interesting history too.
They don't say the name of the deceased for a year. It reminds me of Jewish practice of unveiling. The dead spend a year crossing over and you don't want to stop them. Old ways, new days.
