It's been unseasonably warm here the past two weeks. We were wearing shorts over the weekend. Now it's back in the 50's where it belongs. Now we need a big rain. I wonder if people would be more concerned about climate change if the weather alteration was unpleasant. Now, we're just happy to go for a bike ride or even to the beach. In New England, in November. There is a closing down, a bundling up that I like about this month. October is so bright and busy. We've turned a corner now and the bright spot up ahead is snow.

We made it through show week with only a minor disruption. Sleep is our G-d now. Homework, tests, and more activities this week, but it's going to start winding down to Thanksgiving. We might head out to Noho to see colleges this weekend. Still hoping for normal. Our oven control broke, so that is going to cost a bundle. Happy to have Violet home for two days where I can keep an eye on her!

Quiet weekend because of the show and need to rest. We watched the first half of the Weird Al movie which is terrific. I walked Jamaica Pond on Saturday. LeVar Burton Reads is back! But each one is precious, as it's the last season.

It's my mother yahrzeit today. Feeling that it's the season, but that day doesn't mean much. An obligation. It is making me feel more unstable as I deal with the other crises. It's also Election day. A good time to lay low and lay off media.

I've started saying the serenity prayer. Any boat in a storm.
