Eastham Sunday

Any day you wake up on the Cape is a good day. We came out Friday in the midst of a weird storm. Heavy rain and warm, turning to high winds and an arctic chill. We made it out of Boston in a bit of bright sky and arrived before the ice set in. We brought things from home and had a nice Shabbat. Yesterday, Violet and I went to the grocery store and filled the cart. We stopped to look at the roiling ocean. Huge breakers at Coast Guard with the wind riffling their tops into wild horses. I did yoga and walked yesterday in the 18 degree chill. We started the puzzle and ordered Thai food. We watched Glass Onion which was fun primarily because of the actors. Janelle Monae was awesome. Leslie Odom Jr. underutilized. Then Prodigy and Andor, both flawed. Late to bed with both girls in soft curlers.

Went out this morning to get yeast for sufganiyot and the NY Times. Gosh, I love a newspaper. Hoping to get the kids out to the beach later, but I will certainly go myself. Still very cold but up to 30 near soon. I made a blanket fort and watched some cartoons. Feeling a bit melancholy, will treat with coziness. Tonight I'll make latkes and we'll light the candles the last time. Big present tonight!
