Traveling

I took the day off to get ready for our trip. I walked around the Reservoir in the morning. Very muggy. Didn't get much work done yesterday with various child-related trips, so I'd like to tidy up my work before I go. I'm anxious about the trip for many reasons. It's been so long since we've traveled, except to the Cape. So many details. Part of it is that this undertaking is for me. For my reunion to see my friend. That makes me uncomfortable, and I feel pressure to make sure everyone else is happy at all times. Fed, rested, entertained.

But I've got today to get ready. All contingencies covered. Packing for all weathers and moods. My work left in a good place to pick up again. I hold in my mind rolling green hills and cows. A wide river, soft mountains. A friend.
