On the road again
Jul. 22nd, 2021 10:41 amLast day in this room in this hotel. We're moving to a twin hotel in the suburbs for a few days. Yesterday they finally did the demo. The kitchen is completely gutted. The bathroom and hallway ceiling are out. It would have been more upsetting if it wasn't so much work. At least this stage is over and we can get on to assessment and planning to rebuild.
Still an open question as to whether we should move out to a rental, empty the apartment and buy a place, but it's hard to think big picture when you're on the run.
Hopefully this weekend we can rest and even recreate a bit.
I walked this morning from Warren St down to Old Lincoln. You can feel the age of the place, the oldest part of town. It's the real heart of Brookline, cut off by the highway. Beautiful OLD homes set back in lush gardens. I never wanted to move across Rt. 9, but now I think it wouldn't be so bad.
Though it's a hike to TJ's. And so it goes.
